Indications : Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
, prevention and treatment of esophageal and gastric ulcers
, treatment of ulcers caused by NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs),
treatment of ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori.
Indigestion: 20 mg once daily for 4 weeks
Acid reflux: 20-40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks
Excessive stomach acid: 60 mg once a day, may be increased depending on the patient’s condition and the doctor’s diagnosis.
Duodenal ulcer: 20 mg once daily for 4 weeks
Gastric ulcer: 40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks
Warnings and Precautions:
Before taking this medication, consult your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:
severe liver problems, severe and unexplained weight loss, difficulty or pain in swallowing, vomiting blood, dark stools, severe diarrhea, duodenal ulcer.
History of skin problems after taking other antacids or a history of
skin rashes in children Difficulty absorbing vitamin B12 (cobalamin) Osteoporosis Use of corticosteroid medications
Drug interactions:
Omeprazole may delay the elimination of diazepam, warfarin, and phenytoin from the body.
Omeprazole may reduce the absorption of drugs such as dasatinib, ketoconazole, and itraconazole.
Other interactions of omeprazole:
Voriconazole, digoxin, rifampicin Ataranavir Methotrexate Cilostazol, clarithromycin Ampicillin Iron salts Cyclosporine, clopidogrel, carbamazepine, duloxetine
Contraindications:
Avoid taking omeprazole in the following cases:
History of allergy to omeprazole or any of the product’s side ingredients. Allergy to other proton pump inhibitor drugs (such as pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, omeprazole). Use of the drug telfenavir, erlotinib. Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Side effects:
Every drug, along with its desired therapeutic effects, may cause some unwanted side effects. Although not all of these side effects are seen in the same person, consult a doctor if any of them occur.
Rare complications:
Kidney complications can manifest as cloudy urine, blood with protein in the urine, burning and frequent urination.
Blood complications such as a decrease in the level of white blood cells and platelets in the blood, which can manifest as weakness, unexplained bruising and infection. Liver complications which can manifest as jaundice, dark urine and fatigue.
Digestive complications abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, constipation nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing
Skin complications:
It can appear as a rash, hives, itching, back pain, headache, sudden wheezing, swelling of the ankles, lips, tongue, body and throat, blurred vision, joint and muscle pain, weakness and lethargy, increased sweating, Stevens Johnson syndrome, hair loss, insomnia.
Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
This medicine should be used during pregnancy only if the need for it is clearly demonstrated and the benefits outweigh the possible harm to the fetus.
During breastfeeding, due to secretion in breast milk, its use should be prescribed by a doctor.
