Warnings and precautions
Discuss the following with your doctor:
Fever that gets worse or lasts for more than three days (all ages)
Pain that persists for more than 5 days in children (under 12 years) and more than 10 days in adults (over 12 years)
A severe, persistent sore throat for more than two days, accompanied by fever, rash, headache, nausea, or vomiting.
Drug interactions
Consult your doctor if you are taking any of the following medications:
Alcohol (ethyl), busulfan, carbamazepine, dapsone (topical), dasatinib, fosphenytoin-phenytoin, imatinib, isoniazid, lamotrigine, local anesthetics, nitric oxide, phenobarbital, phenylephrine (systemic), prilocaine, lidocaine/prilocaine, primidone, probenecid, rifampin, sodium nitrate, sorafenib, vaccines, vitamin K antagonists (e.g., warfarin)
Contraindications
Avoid taking acetaminophen if:
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy:
The use of the drug is permitted during pregnancy with the advice of a doctor.
Breastfeeding:
Acetaminophen is present in breast milk. No adverse effects have been reported in breastfed infants. Use of the drug during breastfeeding is permitted under the supervision of a physician.
